mite be a lame question for some people but this is really bothering me .................

isnt it easier to erase poverty by just getting the RBI to print more notes of money and giving it to the poor?

Sponsoring a Child

Hello all,
i know this hardly counts as an 'independent project' and a measure to take Light India further per se, but we could "make a difference".
It amounts to (i think) 84 AED per month which is barely anything to sponsor ONE child. The organisations seems pretty trustable. I think we should go ahead with it. Maybe we could try and sponsor more than one child.

reducing plastic bags - taking an initiative

Udayan called me today about this organisation in Pondy that makes cloth bags.

The idea is to get local supermarkets to buy these bags and sell them to shoppers to use instead of plastic bags.
We could order the bags from the org. for a small amount per number of bags and sell them to stores with profit of 2 bucks that we can add to the light india fund to spend for charit...
